Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. The part as Flora McGrath - the daughter to a Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century was a part she won when she attended an audition for the role. When she was nine years old, she had little or any experience in acting. She moved from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played a leading part as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin was Frankie Addams from a television film version of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding (1997). She had a supporting role as the Queen of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played her character of the polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
