Reese Witherspoon seriously pursued her acting profession after she enrolled at Stanford University. The first successes of her acting career include films like Pleasantville and Election However, her character in the film Elle Woods was the turning point for her. Witherspoon won her first Academy Award in 2005 for her role on Walk the Line. Her most recent films include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild for which she received yet another Oscar nomination. Witherspoon's success also extended to the world of television. She also appeared as an actor as a character in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). In addition to her acting career she is an experienced painter who has shown her work in several galleries.
